Celebrate Our Constitution

National Constitution Day is approaching! Also known as Citizenship day, September 1
7th, is an American day of federal observance. It recognizes the adoption of the United States constitution and those who have become United States citizens. In 1787 on September 17th, thirty nine brave men signed the constitution in Philadelphia. Constitution day is a wonderful time to remember the brave men and women who have fought for our freedom.

The word "heritatre" comes from the Latin word "heridatare" meaning "to leave an inheritance". Through the definitions of these two antiquated words, we find the double pronged meaning of heritage. Heritage is what we inherit, and what we leave behind. Our heritage is like matter, we came from it, it cannot be destroyed, and we will leave something behind to contribute to its flow. All heritage has good to inherit and pass on, as well as negative attributes to be corrected, sorted out, and rectified. This scholarship trip to Pennsylvania is a chance for students to explore and learn more about the foundations of our country and culture through lectures, tours of historical locations, and interactions with other students from across America. Due to the constantly fluctuating situation regarding COVID-19 however, this year’s trip will be held through a virtual curriculum. We aspire to give every student attending the SOA trip the full educational experience and guarantee of safety they deserve, Valley Forge’s closing and recent closures of many of Pennsylvania’s historical sights have caused us to make these changes to the schedule.
